Start of the Mt Nun Expedition – Team leader Rupesh Khopade reports
By Wildcraft

Labels :

8 July 2010 The expedition started from Pune by Jhelum Express and reached Leh via Manali on 12th July. While the journey to Manali was not eventful, the expedition faced its very first challenge at Rohtang pass between Manali to Leh. As we made our way in a bus, a huge landslide blocked the road. Our team had to leave the bus, unload the 200 kg of gear and supplies, carry it all to the other side and look for a new vehicle for the journey to Leh. Further, in the journey the team crossed several passes that showed signs of heavy snowfall in the area.
